Bisley Puppy Training Pack

We all love a new puppy and want them to be a good member of the family as well as a great gun dog, so its vitally important to start training them the core skill as early as possible to ensure they are happy and a well behaved member of the

family and well behaved when at work!

Start with the basics of teaching them to Sit, Down, Stay, Come, Heel, Off, No, as well as house training, socialising, lead training and to retrieve.

"Teaching them to sit first, is usually the easiest for them as for most dogs this is a natural concept"

Dogs are never too young to start training, but training does need to be done at the right stages.

Training is an important part of being a responsible dog owner. There are lots of great dog training classes and books out there. We have a great range of books to start you on the right track. To get your training off to a great start you will need certain equipment. The Bisley Puppy Training Pack has everything you need to do just that.

The Bisley Puppy Pack contains:-

  • Orange 1/2 lb bean bag dummy

  • Bisley green rope slip lead

  • Bisley traditional lanyard

  • Acme 210.5 dog whistle

  • Acme Thunderer whistle

Once you have mastered the basics, built up trust and a bond with you puppy, you can then start on the gun dog training: There is a wealth of knowledge specifically on gun dog training and when to start implementing certain things. There are lots of great sites with advice and courses for those new to the sport and for those more experienced. The Bisley puppy pack isn't just limited to gun dogs, it contains everything needed to get any puppy off to the right start.

The stop whistle needs to be introduced fairly soon, you need to be able to apply the breaks especially when out in the field and the Acme whistles enable you to control the situation. The pack contains two whistles which is perfect for Stop and Recall.

The Acme 210.5 is a high pitched but quiet to the user, sometimes preferred by Spaniel owners, but an excellent all-round dog whistle, particularly useful with puppy's as it is good for close and distance control Single frequency and recommended for use in the town and the country.

The Acme Thunderer 'the world's first sports whistle' is a pea whistle. The body of the whistle contains a pea, which moves with the air flow to produce the signature rolling trill. The pea allows you to vary the sound making this a versatile and invaluable training tool.

The Bisley lanyard enables you to use the whistle hands free., which is a must when training and will be specified as a required bit of kit when attending classes and courses.

Once you have mastered the basics of stop and recall you can really start working on it's retrieval skills.

Before you consider letting your dog retrieve cold game, ensure its competent in the retrieval of dummies. The Orange 1/2 lb training dummy is great for getting your pup used to the weight and shape of a bird. The orange colour is easy for marking and there is no toggle on this one to prevent your four legged friend from chewing. It will also float for a reasonable amount of time too.

Basic training is the first steps and the Bisley green rope slip lead is tough but soft enough to wear without a collar and helps to control and direct your puppy.

When you need to move on to the more advanced stages we have a range of equipment and accessories to allow you to do just that from dog training tools, dog coats, bowls and a great range of dog bags. Don't forget yourself when it comes to the shoot, we have a great range of clothing and boots too.
